Anyone: Borrowing An Air Guitar

My family and I are sitting down at the table for dinner. As is customary, we go around the table and take turns sharing anything noteworthy. An excellent way to bond, mainly since we were a blended family. The eldest of the five children (and my only biological child) began to share that she had a group project in her school in which her group had to demonstrate how to play an air guitar.

Ryssa discussed at length the plan her group decided to go with and how her class received her group’s presentation. After she finished, she asked me what I thought about her presentation because she saw a puzzled look on my face. I told her that I wished that I knew that she needed an “air guitar” earlier because I knew that my boss’ son has one.

As you could imagine, everyone at the table stopped eating, and all eyes were on me. My daughter asked in surprise and perhaps shocked. “Mom, an air guitar?” I replied, “Yes, an air guitar,” full of confidence. For what parent does not want to help their children strive for success.

My daughter then demonstrated and stressed, “Mom, an AIR GUITAR!”

Her face was a mix of terror and hope. I am laughing now, thinking of her facial expression. I knew then tales of my “air guitar” would grace the halls of Ryssa’s school the next day and perhaps many more days to come.

Such a LAM moment. What on earth was I thinking? The children got a good laugh at Mom, and I added a new LAM moment to my repertoire. Family time was never the same after that day.

I hope my Air Guitar LAM moment brought you some joy today!
